Sustainability

A sound sustainability philosophy is a natural and integrated part of ABG Fastena’s business. The choices we make as a company and as individuals have an impact on our surroundings and our environment. We want to be associated with social and ecological sustainability and we therefore strive to reduce our climate footprint, as well as contribute to a better society. That is why we have developed the Fastena Model – a structured approach designed to minimize our impact on the climate, and to manage our properties in a sustainable and responsible manner.

ABG Fastena is a signatory and supporter of the United Nations Global Compact on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.

The Fastena Model in our asset management

Each investment is reviewed from a sustainability perspective according to a specific template, which is linked to a selection of United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Improvement measures are identified and implemented in each investment’s business plan. Quantifiable targets are set and reconciled continuously, in order to reduce the environmental impact of our investments.

We also strive to obtain environmental certifications for our assets and additionally we work closely with our tenants and offer them support in being able to work more climate-smart within their premises. ABG Fastena is therefore a member of Sweden Green Building Council, a non-profit organization owned by its members, open to all companies and organizations within the Swedish construction and real estate sector who wish to develop and influence environmental and sustainability work in the industry

The Fastena Model in our everyday life

Stockholms Stadsmission is a politically independent non-profit organization that supports people in social vulnerability. ABG Fastena is a partner company to Stockholms Stadsmission and supports the organization financially as well as with continuous volunteer work.

WWF is an independent and international non-governmental organization that works to help local communities conserve the natural resources they depend upon, transform markets and policies toward sustainability, and protect and restore species and their habitats. ABG Fastena supports the organization financially.
